Magnetic Tumblers

Magnetic tumblers work much faster than either rotary or vibratory tumbers and remove less material.

Can be used for non-metallic as well as metallic pieces. Produces a brilliant and uniform finish in a very short time on all your pieces for any shape. Vibration-free, compact, and quiet. Special stainless steel pin shot, tumbling soap, and water are placed in the plastic container with your jewellery and sealed with the lid. The container is placed on the tumbler, timer is set, and strong magnets on a concealed disc spin causing the steel shot to spin and tumble. The fine pin shot gets into small areas leaving you with less hand finishing work than conventional tumblers.

Tips on Using Your Magnetic Tumbler

*Do not use all the shot provided with the unit at once. There is always a bit of experimentation involved in the first few uses. As a starting point, place approximately 1/4 lb of the stainless steel shot in the plastic container for every 10 rings.

*After you have placed the shot in the bowl, fill it with water to between 1/3 and 1/2 full.

*Put tumbling soap in the water. Liquid burnishing fluid is conventionally used, buy shaving from an Ivory soap bar will work well.

*Put in your jewellery and run the machine for about 40 minutes.

*After your first "tumble", you should have an understanding of what you have to do to obtain the finish you require. Once you have established the proportions and tumbling times that give you the desired results, you will be able to consistently obtain the same results over and over.
